  1. I wonder if Siem Reap is a great place to visit. I’m planning to go on a vacation soon and still haven’t decided where to go. Can you provide more information about this place?

    1. Dear Alejandro,
For your information, Siem Reap is a popular resort town in northwestern Cambodia, as well as the primary gateway to Angkor region. There are many interesting sites to visit in this town, such as museums, Cambodia cultural village, souvenir shops, silk farms, rice-paddy countryside and fishing village. Being a popular travel destination, Siem Reap has a large number of hotels, resorts and restaurants which can provide tourists with best services and reasonable prices.
We hope you have a good trip!

  2. Can you explain why the night buses take 16 hours to get to Siem Reap, while the night buses only take 12 hours? And which one should I take?

    1. Dear Adam,
For those buses that depart in the morning, they will go through Moc Bai border crossing without any delay before accessing to Cambodia. The buses departing at night, however, will go on a different route, which passes through another border crossing, where you have to wait some hours until it re-opens after the break. That’s why the travel time of day-buses and night-buses is different. Each bus has its pros and cons, but you should choose the one that is more suitable for your itinerary.
      Thank you for the question.

    1. Dear Beatriz,
It is totally fine for both men and women to visit Cambodia alone. Like in other countries of Indochina, Cambodian people are very friendly and hospitable. Despite the pain and difficulties in the past wars, Cambodia now becomes a peaceful country to visit. In case you need help when encountering unexpected problems, you can look for support from the Cambodian Tourist Police Unit or any other Police Station.
      Thank you for the question.

  4. What to wear when visiting temples and pagodas in Cambodia?

    1. Dear Abdullah,
When visiting Cambodia, all tourists are advised to wear light clothes since the weather is hot and humid throughout the year. However, there are some traditional customs tourists must know. In any Buddhist pagodas, it is considered inappropriate for tourists, especially women, to wear shorts, skirts or any kind of sexy clothing. Tourists should wear neat, formal clothes covering arms and legs, and also take off footwear before entering pagodas.
      Thank you for the question.

  5. Hello! Can you tell me how many times and where we will stop by to take a rest and eat to recover energy? As I’m sure I’ll get exhausted if the bus doesn’t stop enough for me to rest.

    1. Dear Shaurya,
During the over ten-hour ride, we will stop at three places for rest and food, one is the border gate, one is a restaurant on the way and the other is Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. In low season, we will have to stop in Phnom Penh to change to another bus, except for the bus departing at 6.45AM, which goes directly without transiting in Phnom Penh. During the break, you can eat local food; however, the cost for food is not included in the trip, so you have to buy it yourself.
      Thank you for the question.

  6. Since we travel from Vietnam to Cambodia, I guess we have to go through the border crossing and do some procedures before accessing to Cambodia. I’m afraid it will get complicated and waste my time because I can’t speak Cambodian. Is that true?

    1. Dear sir/madam,
You shouldn’t worry about that. A local Khmer guide, with good English, will accompany you during the whole journey. He will help you communicate with Cambodian people and do the visa procedure at the border crossing, before accessing to Cambodia. You have to bring your passport and two 4x6 inch photos to apply for entry visa. The fee is 25 dollars.
      Thank you for the question.
