  1. I will go on a vacation to Vietnam in 10 days. I don’t know if Ho Chi Minh city is worth visiting, or I should go to other places instead. Can someone give more information about this city?

    1. Dear Sir/Madam,
Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is one of the largest, wealthiest and most populated City of Vietnam. People used to call this city as the pearl of the Far East, since the city was influenced deeply by the French and their architectural style in the past. Nowadays, Ho Chi Minh City is no doubt one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam’s traveling map. This modern metropolis is also considered as the best place for entertainment, where there are many bars, cafeterias, theaters, cinemas opened until late night. The life in Saigon is also a factor that attracts tourists the most. You will be shocked seeing a lot of bike moving on the streets at the first time, but soon get excited and interested after a while. As for food, this city is a place where you can eat most of Vietnamese delicious dishes.
      Thank you for the question.

  2. I heard that Vietnam is a tropical country, so the weather is hot and pretty much unpredictable. I’m afraid I’ll get overwhelmed by the heat when I’m in Ho Chi Minh City. Does anyone know when is the best time to visit the city?

    1. Dear Alan,
The climate in Ho Chi Minh City is very pleasant, warm all year. It rarely has severe natural disasters, like typhoons or floods. You can visit this city anytime during the year. The city’s weather is divided into two distinctive seasons: dry and wet. The dry season, between November and March, is said to be the best time to visit Saigon, when there’s no rain and the weather is mild and comfortable, especially in December.
Furthermore, some big holidays, like Christmas and Lunar New Year, are celebrated in these months, when tourists can truly experience the culture and life style of Saigon people. April and May are the transition months to wet season, so the weather is a little hotter and uncomfortable. The wet season begins from June to September, when the rains occur more frequently. However, your trip won’t be affected seriously since the rains often last some minutes. Even in rainy season, the days are usually bright, sunny and humid.
      Thank you for the question.

    1. Dear Rachel,
If you want your trip to be perfect, it is crucial to choose a good place to stay during your visit. Ho Chi Minh City offers a wide range of accommodations which is suitable for any travelers, such as guest houses with cheap price for budget travelers and deluxe hotels for those who want excellent services. Moreover, you should find a place which is in or near the city center, where has most of the tourist attractions.
One of the most famous areas for the foreign travelers is Pham Ngu Lao street. This place is also known as the backpacker’s area in Ho Chi Minh City. There are many affordable hotels as well as bars and restaurants. Moreover, this place is very near the central area of the city, which has many famous attractions such as Ben Thanh Market, Saigon’s Opera House, The City Hall.
Or you can also stay in District 5, also known as the China Town of the city since there is a large number of Chinese living in this area. The foods in district 5 are very cheap and delicious, which is the combination of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines.
If you want high-class facilities, staying in District 7 is also a good choice. This area is expected to be the future face of Ho Chi Minh City since the government plans to build this district as a modern urban area to serve the upper class. There are many high quality villas and apartments available for renting and buying. Moreover, this district is just a stone’s throw away from the center of the city, so it’s very convenient for commuting.
      Thank you for the question.
